Lol nah this is tumblr can’t do that!! Haha it’s fine though I expect it, and maybe I should have specified that it was a more general thought very much separate from my feelings regarding Swan Queen

Anonymous said: Sigh. I actually understood what you meant. You weren't comparing anything. You weren't trying to start a debate. Simply thinking aloud, and it was a thought that I understood completely.

It’s all good I’m glad you understood!

Anonymous said: Not to sound like a bitch but your post made no sense. Emma saw with her own eyes Regina BURNING HER MOTHER ALIVE and acted all fine when she returned to the present timeline. She forgave Regina for killing Graham, a guy she liked and was starting to trust, she forgave her for attempting to kill Kathryn and framing her bestie/mother, she forgave her for hurting Henry, she forgave her for nearly destroying SB and so on. Same for Rumple I guess. Emma is a grey character, she's not gonna judge you

It doesn’t make sense to you because you assume I am comparing Hook to Regina. Which I wasn’t.

You know, there’s all these really big, drawn out explanations of why Captain Swan is not a good love story. And they are all good and true. But like, really simply, I think about if I was being pursued by someone. And not only did I know that that someone had actively tried to murder an innocent…

We dont usually argue this becasue people always go “You’re a hypocrite! Regina and EMMA … SHE TRIED TO KILL HER WHOLE FAMILY OMG” so thats why no one argues what you are bringing up. I agree though

Yea I can see that. But it’s different. Like Emma said, “Here she’s Regina.” That’s all Emma has ever known her as. So many of the things Regina has done are abstract ideas to Emma. Whereas with Hook, she has witnessed and experienced this really first hand.

I’m not saying this to excuse Regina and condemn Hook. Technically they are probably about in par in this respect.

My issue is with the idea that Emma could so easily look past the things she’s actually experienced with Hook.

I know. I agree.

What I am saying is people arent going to think that deeply about it and just say we are hypocrites.

We are supposed to view Hook and Regina the same way… and see why Emma would view them both the same… Killian vs Hook, Regina vs Evil Queen.

The flaw in the show is that as you’ve pointed out, Emma actually SAW Hook shoot a woman, among other things. Not to mention, Hook is a lying son of a bitch, where as Regina has been nothing but genuine in her road to redemption with Emma. I am just telling you prepare yourself for hypocrisy accusations.

Oh I don’t really care if people call me anything. I’m just thinking out loud. To be fair, in the real world it really wouldn’t make sense for Emma to be with either of them given their pasts. But storytelling gets to bend those rules. My thought was mostly about the whole Belle situation.

Anonymous said: "And not only did I know that that someone had actively tried to murder an innocent woman for the sake of revenge on another, but it was actually someone I knew and I actually witnessed the aftermath of his actions" hello, Regina tried to kill Emma's parents for decades. Your post is very hypocritical, and I tell you this as a fellow SQ shipper.

You missed my point. And I wasn’t comparing them to Swan Queen. I was thinking about it in a real world context. Besides, I never claimed it wasn’t. It was just some random thoughts, I didn’t even tag them. Agree or disagree, I don’t really mind either way.

Like, Emma and Belle might not be besties, but they’re still cool. And now she’s dating the man that tried to kill her. I really can’t reconcile this. What if he wasn’t a fairy tale character? If Emma was back in Boston and some dude tried to kill someone she hung out with but then did something nice for her would she still be like, “ah well, he did say sorry, kinda.”
